Renowned Ghanaian record producer Edward Nana Poku Osei, popularly known as Hammer, has revealed he is making his musical comeback in 2024 with a new compilation album titled “Upper Echelon”.
In a recent social media post, the legendary beatmaker behind numerous Ghanaian hits announced he has been working on the project since August 2022. The album will primarily feature new school artists along with some veteran voices.
However, Hammer shared that balancing his music and his day job as a business executive had slowed down the album’s progress. As Managing Partner and Head of Sales/Marketing for bread company A1 Bread, while also working on projects for his artist RedEye, he struggled to dedicate time fully to “Upper Echelon”.
So the producer made a decisive move – he resigned from his corporate role at A1 Bread to focus exclusively on his music again. Hammer assured that he will remain an equity stakeholder in the company regardless.
With his attention now set back onto producing, Hammer expects to release his comeback album “Upper Echelon” in early 2024, much to the delight of his fans worldwide. The project marks his first major solo release in several years.
Hammer, who shaped modern Ghanaian record production in the 90s/2000s, has been missed creatively. But with his return now confirmed, his musical Midas touch will soon make its triumphant return. As he steps back fully into his element crafting hits, the anticipation for “Upper Echelon” will continue building over the next year.
