Entertainment journalist Kwame Dadzie of Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z recently reacted to the ongoing feud between Ghanaian rappers Strongman Burner and Kweku Smoke. Dadzie posted a screenshot of a comment Strongman made reassuring his wife of his unwavering love, which many believe the beef has caused instability in his relationship.
In response, Dadzie wrote:
“USELESS BEEF! Vapid insults, wanton display of immaturity, disrespect to ‘wife’, child and mother, lack of creativity. I love beef but this one between Strongman Burner and Kweku Smoke is so stale and uninspiring. Strongman, please channel the energy into promoting ‘Abuburo Kosua.’”
In his critique, Dadzie took issue with the nature of the rap beef, stating “Vapid insults, wanton display of immaturity, disrespect to ‘wife’, child and mother, lack of creativity.” He expressed disappointment in the unimaginative back-and-forth insults between the two lyricists.
As an entertainment journalist familiar with rap beefs, Dadzie found this current back-and-forth between Strongman and Kweku Smoke unengaging. In his view, their petty insults and lack of creative lyricism fail to rise to the level of an interesting rap battle.
Dadzie’s comments speak to a broader critique among some Ghanaian hip-hop fans that beefs nowadays lack substantive content or displays of skill. While rap feuds can help artists attract attention, Dadzie notes Strongman would be better off focusing his talents on music than trading schoolyard insults.

They need to squash that beef already. It's not healthy at all.
